Email Disclaimer

Have you noticed that disclaimers in email messages have gotten completely out of hand?  Really?  A one line message requires a fifteen line disclaimer?  I’ll admit that I’m an offender, as are many attorneys out there.  In fact attorneys are probably the worst offenders.  In an effort to clean up my email messages and shed the appearance of paranoia that goes along with a ridiculously long disclaimer, I’m simply going to include a link to this page in my email messages and paste my disclaimer below.

So here it is folks – if you read an email from me you hereby impliedly understand and agree to all of the following:

1. The information contained in this email and accompanying attachments constitute confidential information which may be legally privileged and is intended for the sole use of the addressee. If you are not the intended recipient of this information, any disclosure, copying, distribution or the taking of any action in reliance on this information is strictly prohibited and may be unlawful. This information is the property of the Lineberry Law Firm, PLLC. If you received this email in error, please notify us immediately by return email or by calling (253) 274-1400.

2. This email transmission may not be secure and may be illegally intercepted. Clients of the Lineberry Law Firm, PLLC are asked to use their best judgment in determining whether the topic of an email response is such that it would be better saved for a more secure means of communication.

4. All Lineberry Law Firm, PLLC attorneys are licensed to practice law in Washington and do not intend to give legal advice to anyone with legal matters not involving Washington law and/or federal law. Douglas J. Lineberry is also licensed to practice law in Idaho.

CIRCULAR 230 NOTICE: To ensure compliance with requirements imposed by the IRS, we inform you that any tax advice contained in this communication (including any attachments) was not intended or written to be used, and cannot be used, for the purpose of (i) avoiding penalties under the Internal Revenue Code or (ii) promoting, marketing or recommending to another party any transaction or matter addressed herein.
